My Bairn' Cards

I finally had time to make cards for my kiddywinks. In the hope that I wouldn't be last minute for these, I'd coloured the images at the end of November/beginning of December .....that worked well, huh!?!

Louise's uses the beautiful Stockings from Saturated Canary. Louise loves her onesies, hence the choice if image. And her hair has been cut shorter too!

Euan's uses Sugar Nellie's My Friend Flakey. I chose this image as Euan has a red Pom Pom hat like the boy in the image. And I used my new pearl pen for some snow.

For both cads, I've used my promarkers to colour and the lovely Dovecraft Back to Basics Modern Christmas papers. Used Kraft card blanks too, which I'm loving! Wasn't sure what Lou would make of the Kraft but she lived it and thought it made the bright papers stand out better! And Euan loved his card too. Phew!!

Have a wonderful Christmas, peeps....I hope Santa is good to you all! x

Dream Valley - Christmas

My, I'm a bit late with this.....time has slipped away into another realm and I got a little mixed up!  But my lovely team mates have provided lots of lovely Christmas samples for the super easy Christmas theme for this month.  And we have 3 sponsors for this challenge!!

I had lots of cards and even some floral decorations I could share, but I have decided to share this card that I made for my mam and dad.  I have woven some scrap paper strips, matted onto red paper, added some ribbbon and a bow, sequins, beads and some beautiful gold leaves and a rose from Hobbycraft.  I really loved making this card and I'm sure my mam will love the rose and design, even though I've mounted it onto a Kraft card and mam doesn't like browns!!  (But it looked right, and more modern on the Kraft rather than white card.....!)

I would also like to enter this card into the Anything Goes Challenge - Traditional Christmas Colours

A Sugar Bowl Entry!

Finally, I am blogging one of the many cards I have been making! This card uses the gorgeously cute SugarNellie Warm Winter Wishes, coloured with my polychromo pencils, Stardust Stickles and Picket Fence Distress Stickles. I just know that this is going to be one of my top Christmas images this year!!

The papers are my new Dovecraft basics, which I love.....the colours are fab!

I'll decide on the sentiment soon but decided to blog while I have half a chance!!

I'm trying BlogPress from my phone, so there are no links at the mo......maybe it is possible but my sleepy brain can't work out how yet! Maybe next time. Will add the links for my challenges tomorrow:
SugarBowl Blog - sketch and Winters Tale theme
SugarNellie Facebook challenge - Glitter

Ok, so here it goes.....will it work?!

Non-Traditional Christmas

Phew, a fortnight has passed and I haven't been able to blog but I HAVE been really busy........ and had a fantastic time in Austria with my family and my sister, nephew and brother in law!!  So good to spend some time with my sis again!

Anyways, the new challenge at Dream Valley is Non-Traditional Christmas,  The team have, as always, provided a wealth of ideas and inspiration.

Whilst I was in Stainach, my sister took me to the flower shop her friend owns.  Wow, I was like the proverbial kid in a sweet shop....so many gorgeous creations to behold....wall hangings, floral displays, table decorations, candle holders, cones, leaves.....and wicker type decorations.  So I was brimming with lots of enthusiasm and ideas but not really sure what to make......until I entered Dunelm Mills and saw these wicker hearts!!  Then I knew that I would me making a decoration for my home!

So, I have wrapped ribbon through the outside of the heart - more fiddly and time-consuming than I thought it would be!!  I bunched up some rafia into a sort of bow, or "leaves".  Then I added the beautiful roses I got from Hobbycraft.  But it was missing something....So I had some fun with some floristry wire and beads and added the mint and teal "leaves".  I love red and teal/mint/turquoise together - fresher and more "me" than the traditional red and GREEN.  The original white hanging ribbon was jazzed up with red ribbon, sequins and beads sewn onto each side of it (so that It looks nice when it's hanging.  All the bits were secured in place with my fantastic glue gun.

So, what are you going to create for us at Dream Valley?  I'm looking forward to seeing!

Hand Me Down Picture

Hello peeps! It's Sunday and time for another challenge at Dream Valley.....this week is super easy......Anything Goes!

So I decided to use the gorgeous Hand Me Down from Krista. I've coloured her with polychromos and added her to a wee picture frame, just for a change! I've even distressed the edges of some paper......and added odd buttons to add to her hand me down appearance and name.

Apologies for brevity and lack of links just now, but I'm in Austria visiting my sis and ran out of time before I left. Will update on my return!

Take care ,and have a lovely Sunday.

Glittery Fancy and Digital

Can you believe that a fortnight has passed since our last Dream Valley challenge? Nope, neither can I!! But, we have a cracking challenge and it is sooooo easy I suspect there'll be a huge number of entries.....Glitter and Bling! Good, Huh?

I decided that such a challenge gave me the distinct excuse to use my adored Saturated Canary Fancy image. (Originally, it was a freebie, but it should be in Krista's shop at some point soon.) Fancy has been coloured using my precious Polychromo pencils, Stardust Stickles and a bit of Platinum Stickles for the hair "pins".

The papers are Summertime Designs Dryer Lint At Tiffany's. Unusually for me.....in fact, VERY unusually for me....I have NOT printed out the papers as I normally do....I actually layered them on my computed and layered the image on my computer and layered the flowery embellishment on the layout too!! I know, I'm actually still in shock myself! I added a little texture with some organza ribbon, which has been threaded underneath the flower embellishment. And a large Blingy Gem at the centre of the flower completed the card.

Here's a close up of the pretty lady herself:

So, what Glittery and Blingy handiwork are you going to produce for Dream Valley? We're sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs too and some of the team have showcased a few of these images beautifully - take a look!

Have a great Sunday, folks!

A New Little Mermaid

This exquisite little mermaid is "Under The Sea"....Isn't she beautiful?  I have coloured her with my hallowed Polychromo pencils, with Stickles in Stardust, Silver and Platinum.  The adorable turtle has had his shell glossed too.

The watery blue and green paper, and the brown one, is First Edition Up, Up & Away.  The front turquoise paper is from Nitwits Joyful Hearts.  I have severed a Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish to make some reedy leaves and added some rafia and a couple of punched flowers.  I haven't added a sentiment yet.....I'll wait until I know who will receive it.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Sugar Bowl - Sketch and "Wet, Wet, Wet" theme
Addicted to Stamps - Animal Friends
The Crafty Pad - Use and Animal
Totally Gorjuss - Bling it On
Cute Card Thursday - Got Glitter

Miss Anya Has a Haircut

For my sister-in-law's birthday, I decided that this image was perfect....especially if I gave her a rather splendid haircut (the original has long hair).

The chic little Miss Anya has been coloured with Polychromo pencils, Stickles and Glossy Accents (on the boot buttons and her rather fashionable handbag).  The monochrome papers are Clare Curd ones and I've used the useful Grunge Tickets and sentiments from LOTV.  The flowers and handbag charm are from my stash.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Challenges for Everybody - Anything Goes
One Stop Craft Challenge - Anything Goes
Fussy and Fancy - Anything Goes

Happy Monday, folks!

A Halloween Offering

At Dream Valley this fortnight, our theme is.....Halloween!  It can be anything at all as long as it is handmade and follows the Halloween theme.  My dt colleagues have provided a great array, including a batch of monster cakes and a scrap page

Now, Halloween always stumps me, as Louise is generally too busy to be at a party, so there are no invites to make.  And I didn't have very good pictures of last year's outfits to make a scrap page.  So, this year, I have used Digistamp Boutique's Monthly Freebie, Spooky.  I've cut and layered the cat to be a little 3d and included a plastic spider for him to be afraid of.

Dream Valley are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps, which is great!  Can't wait to see what you create for us!

Books and Bedhead for Ellie

A VERY last minute entry for Sketch Saturday!  Using Books and Bedhead (again!!), coloured with polychromos.  Or at least it WAS going to be but the collection has closed:0(

But I CAN enter Divas By Design - Anything Goes!

Papers are a mix from what was on my desk.  I've made a few wee books again - love making these - the inside of them has been stamped with Tiny Script or some of the Echo Park Sweet Day text paper!

Sorry for brevity of post, but it's Friday night and I ain't gonna be popular if I keep going!!!!

Have a great weekend:0)

A little Picture

I've been meaning to do this for ages, but always had other things that were more important to do.  But finally, my second picture for Lou has been completed.

I used Krista's gorgeous Books and Bedhead, which suits Lou perfectly - she loves her books and lolling about in bed!!  I've coloured her with Polychromo pencils and a bit of gloss and glitter.

The papers are Echo Park Sweet Day.  I've made a mini book with printed pages, using my Inkylicious Tiny Text stamp and a little diary too.  And the buttons and books and gems have all been secured with my new glue gun, which I LOVE!!  I've left the glass out of the frame so that it's more 3D and touchable.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Divas By Design - Texture
Totally Gorjuss - Anything Goes

And here is the first picture I made for Lou, although the Tilda now has a GREEN belt, just like Lou!

A Pink Cluster Necklace

Today's NEW challenge at Dream Valley is Breast Cancer Awareness GO PINK.  I was running a bit short of time this week (as I've been preparing for my stall at a Pamper Day today), so I decided to combine the two and made a pink cluster necklace and earrings.

I've used a beautiful Mother & Son chain and a collection of pink beads, a pink heart and a pink rose pendant, all hung from a small length of chain.

We are sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads and you could win a $10 voucher!
I'll look forward to seeing your beautiful PINK creations!  (Susan, will you be sitting this one out?!!)

A Little Bumblebee

It's another Gorjuss Girl image, Bumblebee

I've had some fun paper piecing her and have coloured her with Promarkers, polychromos, gloss and stickles.

The layout is the fab Sketch and Stash sketch, with a variety of scraps that were on my desk at the time.

Been rather busy lately, getting ready for my stall at a Pamper Day tomorrow....I shouldn't really be posting a blog post, but hey ho......

Have a great day!

Little Ballerina

Another stamp I've neglected for a while - Little Ballerina.  I've coloured her with Promarkers and stickles.  And I had a bit of fun making her a ribbon tutu (by sewing running stitch along some ribbon, pulling to gather, then tucking through 2 slits in the image and securing on the reverse with tape)!

I've used my Cuttlebug Stars Embossing Folder as a background and some paper scraps to add a bit of colour.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Totally Papercrafts - For a Child (2nd entry)
CRAFT - Children (2nd entry)
Simon Says Stamp - Emboss it (2nd entry)

Oh it's ages since I've used this little cutie!  She's called Party Princess and one of my favourite Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girls.

I've coloured her with a mix of mediums:
dresses - paper pieced
bear - promarkers
hair - promarkers and polychromos
tights - polychromos
crowns - polychromos, gloss, Stardust Stickles

The papers are a mix of Echo Park Sweet Day and MME Fine and Dandy Girl, matted onto Papermill red paper.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Sketch Saturday - fab sketch (I've never thought of rounding the edges of the DP but not the matting!)
Sugary Sunday Facebook challenge - Use 3 of Something - 3 strings of rafia, 3 card candi, 3 different DPs
Totally Papercrafts - For a Child
CRAFT - Children

Digistamp Golf Alf

How cool is this guy, Golf Alf, by Digistamp Boutique?  And he's fab to colour too.

I've coloured him with Promarkers (and a highlighter pen) in police colours and added a moustache to be just like the recipient - hopefully he'll still be talking to me!  A bit of gloss has been added to a few of the clubs and letters.

I've added an embossed panel  - I love this Cuttlebug Clockworks embossing folder, especially for BIG birthdays!!

So, I would like to enter the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - Emboss It (the clockworks panel)

Sketch Saturday Baby Card

Phew, as long as I have no interruptions, I'll manage to get this posted before the collection finishes for this week's Sketch Saturday challenge.....

I have used Sugar Nellie's gorgeous Bambino, just left black and white, although it is decoupaged for 3d and shadow effect (but it doesn't really show in the photo, does it?!).  The papers are First Edition Spring Drop and some gold paper from Papermill.  A few card candi complete my simple card using the wonderful Sketch Saturday sketch.

And a Newer Sugar Nellie

The gorgeously cute Delia, this time!  Coloured with Promarkers, paper-piecing, polychromos for shading on the paper, gloss and glamour dust.

As some will recognise, I have used the sketch at Sugar Bowl again, but unfortunately I'm too late to add it for this challenge.  But I CAN still enter the Facebook Sugar Nellie Sugary Sunday challenge of Glittery, Gleamy or Glossy.  Lots of gloss and glimmer on the wings and wand and lovely glossy, paper pieced shoes!

The papers are my new Echo Park Sweet Day and I love 'em - they're fresh and clean and with the most fantastic colours!

An Old Sugar Nellie

I haven't used Daisy and Dolly for sooooo long!  But I need a couple of little girl cards and thought I'd get her stamped again!

I've used the Sugar Bowl sketch and even had a go at the Shabby Chic option!  If you look REALLY closely, you can see that I've roughed my paper edges up (a little) and added some Stickles.....that's as far as Shabby Chic goes for me!!  But the photo still looks rather sweet and simple, my usual style, huh?!  I'll also enter the Sugary Sunday over on Facebook - Glittery, Gleamy or Glossy.

Papers: MME Everyday Flair
Stamp: Sugar Nellie Daisy and Dolly
Sentiment: Kaisercraft
Colouring medium: Promarkers, Polychromos, Stickles Stardust

I would also like to enter the Divas by Design Challenge - For a Child

Dream Valley - Celebrations.....and a DT Call

Our new theme at Dream Valley is Celebrations, which is really easy, huh!?! Birthday, baby, home, Christmas, wedding........ The list is endless!

I decided to show the birthday card for a fantabulous friend. I layered lots of scraps onto Kraft, then gold paper. All pieces were edged with promarker to define the edges. The sentiment s LOTV, the aeroplane die is (with some gel pen and gloss) and there are some buttons, ribbon and raffia from stash.

I really love using my scraps and this is one of 6 or 7 cards i have made embracing this technique. You can see the others on my Facebook page.

So, what will you make for our Celebrations theme at Dream Valley? Remember that it can be any craft as long as it fits the theme. And our sponsor is Digi Doodles.

We are also running a DT call to add to our lovely team. The details are here.

I look forward to seeing your creations.

A last minute Sugar Bowl Entry

A last minute entry for the Sugar Bowl challenge, which closed in less than two hours.....

So, Let's Hit the Town has been coloured with Polychromo pencils and gloss.  I've used the Sugar Bowl sketch and included some ribbon and a bow for the Sugar Nellie Facebook challenge.  The papers are a mix of Prima and First Edition.

Off out again....Have a good night x

Sketch Saturday

I would like to introduce you to....Oscar and Archie, from Digistamp Boutique. Cute, huh?! I've coloured them with Promarkers and then my Polychromo pencils for a bit of fur and grass detail.

The papers are Prima, matted onto turquoise paper. I've used a Papermania greeting that I've had forever, a new card candi and a little bow to finish.

I'm really starting to love digi images now......very handy and take up no space at all!!

I've used the Sketch Saturday sketch, which I haven't done for ages!

Apologies for the quick post.....need to get Louise to jazz!

Edit:

I'd also like to enter Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Something Old, Something New

It's time for a new challenge at Dream Valley and this fortnight, it is Something Old, Something New.

I have used the following:

OLD elements
* papers - various from stash
* "kraft" card (aka the inside of a roll of wrapping paper!)
* flower punch
* technique - sticking my paper scraps together to make a new paper
* platinum Stickles

NEW elements
* Cheery Lynn Olive Branch Die
* Inkylicious Sprinky ink for the flowers (before punching)
* Inkylicious Tiny Text stamp on the flowers (before punching)

I loved making this card....all the different papers (scraps from the previous cards I have made this week) seems to work well together....playing with the spray ink, stamps and dies that I got for my birthday was fab too!

And, Dream Valley are lucky enough to have not one, not two, but THREE sponsors this challenge:
So what will you make for us?  A card, scrap page, cushion, jewellery.........?  The choice is yours!

Happy crafting!

Sugar Bowl 90

I'm so chuffed to have been able to enter the Sugar Bowl challenge.....it feels like ages since I've managed it!

I've used the absolutely gorgeous Bambino image and I've left it black and white.  The papers are First Edition Summer Breeze, matted onto Papermill gold paper.  I've followed the Sugar Bowl sketch, but not the optional theme:

There's a new Facebook group for Sugar Nellie fans and it would be lovely to see you there.  It's a fab and friendly group!

Springtime Good Luck

This gorgeous little lady is called Springtime.......I've coloured her with my beloved polychromo pencils and I'm even pleased with how the grass has turned out!!  She looks lovely and relaxed sitting in the the meadow amongst the beautiful flowers, doesn't she?

I've used the fab sketch at Sketch Saturday and used odds ends of First Edition and Dovecraft papers and matted onto gold paper.

I would also like to enter the Saturated Canary photo challenge (inspired by the grass, flowers and relaxed feel of the photo).

Dream Valley - Steam Punk

Good morning everyone!  Apologies for my Dream Valley DT card being a little late.....we were in Aviemore until Friday and then went mountain biking at Glentress, Peebles, yesterday.

So, the theme for the Dream Valley challenge this fortnight is Steam Punk and it was DEFINITELY a challenge for me!  After looking up some definitions (to confirm my idea of steam punk) I decided that this paper, which has lots of pocket watches and penny farthing bikes on, would work....I could use my Cuttlebug Clockworks embossing folder......and I could make a corsetted style dress.....hmmm.

The dress is accordian folded for the skirt and the corset bodice is from my own template, built up with about 4 layers of sticky pads to raise to the same height as the skirt.  I've added a thin ribbon "belt" and bow to hide the join.  The clock is cut from some cream paper that has been embossed and inked with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  A Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish and some pearls complete my first ever Steam Punk card.  I will add a sentiment at a later date.

We are sponsored by the fabulous:
and the lucky winner will receive a £10 voucher to spend!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you all create for our Steam Punk Challenge and remember that it can be any craft you like.

Happy crafting!

Skateboarding

I seem to be addicted to Krista's Saturated Canary images just now...they're so awesome and fabulous to colour.

I've had this Skateboarding image coloured since the Men's Wimbledon final and finally had time to make it into a card. I'm pretty sure I layered my polychromos on top of promarkers. I love my polychromos.....have I ever told you that?!! The papers are a mix from stash- Basic Grey Cupcake (I think) and MME Everyday Flair, matted onto red Papermill paper. I've added some of my favourite scrim and rafia and a few embossed stars.

I would like to enter the Saturated Canary challenge - The Great Outdoors (skateboarding's an outdoor activity, isn't it?).

Dream Valley - Punches and Dies

Well, we've finally had a few days of summery weather this week and it has been fabulous to get outside again.

And it's time for another challenge at Dream Valley.  This fortnight, it is Punches and Dies - a nice easy one!  For ages, I have kept a bag of the bairns' old clothes, trying to decide what I might be able to do with them, SURE that I would be able to upcycle them in some way.  And finally, I had the idea to make a cushion cover.

This cover has been made out of 2 pairs of Louise's jeans that are way too short.  I have cut the denim into squares and rectangles and sewn them together into a patchwork.  I alternated the direction of the weaves which gave a good effect.

I decorated it, as you can see, with lots of die cut felt flowers, cut using my Sizzix Wedding Flower die.  I have handsewn them in place with embroidery thread and a bead is in the centre of each one.

A neglected Tinkerbell cushion has been stuffed inside the cover (thus recycling again!!) and a new accessory has been born!  As this is the first that I have made, it is a little rough and untidy in places, but perfectly useable and I am please that it has turned out so well from things that were no longer being used.  Hopefully, the next one will be a little neater as I'll have a better idea about what I need to do!  AND, Louise has a couple of pairs of cute new denim shorts......we just need some warm and sunny weather to be able to wear them!!

So, what will you create for our Punches and Dies theme at Dream Valley?  I can't wait to see.

Happy crafting!

Jazz Star

As soon as I saw this fab Saturated Canary image, called Sporty Guy, I decided that it would be perfect for using in something with Euan and his love of jazz dancing. I've cut off the basketball which is in the top hand to make it look like a dance move.

I've coloured him with my beloved Polychromo pencils and used him in a smash book page about the dance show that he and his big sister performed in in June. The words are the words to the song that he danced to. The paper is from my stash. And I've made this a fold out page, with the intention that I will put Louise's pictures on the other side. I'll add photos when that bit's all finished.

I would like to enter the Saturated Canary Challenge - Black and White and One

Well, it looks like its back to rain this morning, but we've actually had a couple of dry days and we have well and truly made the most of them: Beecraigs park, which included an outside picnic and gathering pine cone "treasure", catching up with my mam and dad - feeding the ducks, playing in the garden, play park, eating lunch outside, and a couple of BBQs too! Fantastic! Not had so much crafty time, but great to have been outside so much.

Hope you're having a good summer:0)

2nd Sugar Bowl 88

I'm so pleased I've had time to play in the Sugar Bowl again. The sketch is fab and suits my simple style, and the cards I had to make, perfectly!

I've coloured Hamish and Tractor with Polychromo pencils, which I love using. The papers are mostly MME Everyday Flair, matted with red paper. A bit of scrim and some buttons add texture.

We were at Callum's party today and it was fantastic- Euan thoroughly enjoyed himself with his friends in soft play and the tractor ride, as well as the party games and food. And we all had a great time together afterwards looking at the animals, playing in the sand and in the play parks. Almond Valley was brilliant and we'll definitely be back!!

Sugar Bowl Challenge 88

I really don't know where time goes to just now.....do you? I thought that the summer holidays would mean having more time with the bairns and to do a few things for myself but it doesn't seem to be that way.....next year, maybe I need to have less activities arranged for next year.....?!

But, I have managed to make a few cards and finally managed to join in with the Sugar Nellie Facebook challenge (this week it's Anything Goes) and the Sugar Bowl Challenge. I love this challenges's sketch - its simple: just the way Iike it!!

So, I have used some old papers, which I think are Dandelion and Daisy ones. The image is the gorgeously cute Bambino. I decided to keep it black and white this time - the shading is utterly amazing and it suited the card. A bit of ribbon, scrim, a Sizzix vine, flower and some card candy complete my simple card.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Sugar Bowl - sketch

Sugarnellie Facebook challenge - Anything Goes

Charisma Cardz - Monochrome

Dream Valley - Summer

It's time for another challenge at Dream Valley, and this fortnight, the theme is Summer.  I decided to create a scrap layout and used bright summery colours, but used pictures of activities the bairns have done during the extremely wet summer so far.  So, we have facepainting, an imaginary aeroplane game and xbox photos.  I have used my fab Sizzix aeroplane die and Puddles of Love Gorjuss girl, coloured with promarkers and lots of gloss.

I MAY add a hidden journalling card via a slit at the side of the xbox photo to explain all the other activities we've done too......or I might create another layout.  But at least I have actually scrapped some summer holiday stuff this year!

Anyway, we have a brand new sponsor for this challenge: Squiggle Stamps and some of the team have made some beautiful creations using their images.  Remember that you can make any craft project you like as long as it follows the theme of Summer.

Happy crafting!

"Fancy" Some Bling?

It was our 12th wedding anniversary on Sunday and, amongst other things we had to do that day, we went to Dollar Park.  Dollar Park was where our wedding photos were taken on a beautifully sunny day 12 years ago.  Louise acted as photographer and managed to get this lovely photo of the two of us.

I'd had the beautiful Saturated Canary image, Fancy, coloured for a couple of weeks and couldn't decide what to make her into, but decided that she was perfect for a Smash book page about our anniversary.  She's been coloured with Polychromo pencils and Stardust Stickles and I love her dress!  The papers are Papermania Lincoln Linen.  The swirl and flowers are peel offs I've had for ages, decorated with a few gems.  The Love tape, letter stamps and chipboard are from my Costco kit I got ages and ages ago.  The photo frame was cut from a 3 pic mount that I removed from the frame for Lou's picture I made her.

This is the first Smash page I've been brave enough to share, but I really love "smashing" and Krista's images are proving great additions to my pages too.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Saturated Canary - Bling it Out
Whoopsi Daisy - Use Up Your Stash (love tape, chipboard, swirl peel off, flower die cut)
One Stitch At A Time - Anything Goes

Dream Valley DT - Anything But Square

I hope that you are all managing to stay safe during this mad weather and getting the chance to enjoy a wonderful weekend of sport. This is the first year that I've really got into Wimbledon, but we have all really enjoyed it, especially Andy Murray's games and I loved the mixed doubles match that Paes and Vesnina won - very entertaining! We also get to enjoy the British Grand Prix, which is on as I type my blog post!

Anyway, back to the challenge....at Dream Valley, our new challenge is Anything but Square and the inspiration from the team is brilliant! After much deliberation, I decided that this was a good incentive to finish the picture I have been working on for a while for Louise's bedroom. The background patches are a mix of First Edition Spring Drop and from stash. I have drawn the letters free hand, with the help from my ruler and circular nesties.

I have coloured Saturated Canary's beautiful Hipster with Polychromos pencils. The hair kind of reminds me of Lou and turquoise and red are her favourite colours. The Magnolia karate girl has been used as Louise loves her taekwondo. I've just realised that I need to colour some green tags to make the belt correct for her current grading!

Some flowers, die cut Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourishes and a die cut teddy compete the picture.....finally! Now I just need to start and finish one for Euan!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Paper Shelter - Flower Power

Stampavie and More - Lots of Flowers

I also had fun decorating a hair clip - simple colours and design to suit my simple tastes! I am seriously considering buying a glue gun so that I can make a few more hair accessories.......it would be useful for a few other things too, wouldn't it? Anyway, here is a wee pic of it

So, what can you make for us at Dream Valley? Anything you like as long as it is not square!! I can't wait to see what you all make.

Happy crafting!

Sugar Bowl Hedgie

This Hedgie, Aviator, is just sooooooo cute, don't you think? And he's fab to colour! I've coloured him with Promarkers and Polychromo pencils - rather like this technique as it seems to be more vibrant, or have more depth, or something. Plus it's fun!! And there's a bit of gloss on the goggles and aeroplane.

I've used my favourite colour combo, or at least one of them: turquoise, green and grey. The papers are MME Lost and Found Portobello Road and I LOVE them......even more than the Memory Box Spearmint papers that have similar colours!! Everything has been matted onto turquoise paper which lifts the papers a bit.

I have used Fiona's fab Sugar Bowl sketch - I managed to get it to work with this image and papers! And I would also like to enter:

Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Top Tip Tuesday - One for the Men

Cards for Men- Happy Birthday

SugarNellie Facebook Challenge - fave colours

Hand Me Downs

I have lusted after this image Hand Me Downs for AGES and finally purchased her when Krista offered 30% discount.....incidentally, 5 other friends fell in the shopping basket too!! I have coloured her with pro markers and Polychromo pencils and I am sooooo chuffed with how she turned out, especially her pinafore and hair!

I've used my MME Everyday Flair papers, an extremely simple layout and my well used letter stamps (that was included in a fantastic scrap booking kit I bought from Costco a while back).

I made this card for my sis (obviously!). Lindsay is a year and 10 months younger than I am so always had my 'hand-me-downs'. Some of these were lovely and I hated having to part with them, like the lovely orange polka dot dress with the pandas on bicycles around the hem......but others, like the acrylic stripy jumper she had to endure TWICE - her own one AND mine weren't so good and are a source of banter even now!! Originally I had intended to try to replicate this horrible jumper in the image, but the image is just too pretty!

So, I would like to enter the following challenges:
