Sugary Sweet Delia

Isn't she just soooo cute?! And I decided to keep the beautiful little Delia in very Girly colours, with lots of pink.

Delia has been coloured with promarkers and Stardust Stickles. The papers are First Edition Spring Drop, matted onto turquoise paper to make it "pop". I have finished the card with a liquid pearl pattern and a little more Stickles.

Pearls and Lace

Our theme for this fortnight at Dream Valley, is Pearls and Lace and we are lucky enough to be sponsored by the fabulous Saturated Canary!!

As you know, I LOVE Krista's images and chose Roses are Red, Violets are Blue as my design image. I thoroughly enjoyed colouring her luscious long hair, her outfit and the beautiful flowers.....I even added some grass! I used my polychromo pencils which, I must admit, have been slightly neglected of late, but it was good to use them again. I love building up the colour and adding the shading....very therapeutic!!

With the Pearls and Lace theme, I thought I might make something more vintage in style, but I've remained true to my preferred style and kept it reasonably clean. The paper is from Forever Friends Kraft collection - loving the colours and patterns in this pad! I have used rafia lace, one pearl and my pearl wand to add the details to the Spellbinders Foliage leaves and the butterfly trail. The butterfly is Clearly Besotted Butterfly Wish Additions and die. Oh, and I've added some text to the flower using my Inkylicious Tiny Text stamp and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.

So, what will you make for us this time? I'm looking forward to viewing your projects.

Read All About It

I've been itching to colour this image for a while now, but there's always been something else to do, but the current Saturated Canary challenge of Read All About It has given me the perfect reason to get colouring.

It is, of course, the fabulous What the Librarian Reads and I've coloured her with my Polychromo pencils. And after I saw Susan's fab bookmark using this tutorial, I decided that this is exactly what I would make. These corner bookmarks are so easy and fun that I've currently made another 3, all using my beautiful Echo Park Sweet Day papers - love the colours in this pad!

And here is a close up.....

Anyway, off to enjoy the rest of Thursday night....almost the weekend!!

A couple of simple thank you cards

Now, maybe you're not yet aware of this, but I have a major obsession with Clearly Besotted Stamps! And the Butterfly Wishes Additions set and the matching die is definitely one of my favourites.

I wanted to use up some of the scraps on my desk, so these are from my Kraft Collection pad. Before I stuck them down, I stamped the zigzag stitching, from the Just for You set, in Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. The butterflies were stamped, cut and layered, with a little Silver Stickles added. I also used some of the new Bakers Twine that I chose as my prize from The Ribbon Girl.

This was actually the first of the two cards I made and also features the stamped stitching, die cut butterflies, Silver Stickles and Bakers Twine.

I had such fun making these cards. I would like to enter the following challenges:

Freshly Made Aviator

I just LOVE this little guy and I LOVE the sketches at Freshly Made Sketches! The little guy is, of course, by Sugar Nellie and is called Aviator. I have stamped him onto my new Ryman's 200 card (which I am very impressed with!) and coloured him with my promarkers and gloss for the goggles, plane and wings.

I've used my new Kaisercraft Journey On papers, some cord/thread, a button and a sentiment to complete my card. The sentiment has been made using my Clearly Besotted Just for You set.

Shoes and Wine

For this card, I used the fabulous Freshly Made Sketches sketch. As soon as I saw this sketch, I realised how this card could go.....The gorgeous shoes are Stepping Out from Clearly Besotted and the bottle and glass are from a Pickles and Onion set. Normally, I would colour the bottle and glass and add some gloss.....the shoes might have been coloured and glossed but I decided that this card was actually working because they were black and white....it felt kind of boutique-y!!

The pink stripe and spot papers are from MME Fine and Dandy Girl pad. The gorgeous shaped turquoise bit is a die cut from my new Kaiser Craft On the Move pad and has "style" stamped from the Stepping Out set. Pearl swirls complete the card. I worried that they were maybe a little too much, but I think they work. What d'ya think?

A Special Mother's Day Card

Well, time just seems to be racing ahead and it's time for another challenge at Dream Valley. This fortnight, it is Mother's Day / For a Lady and we have a new sponsor, Freckled Fawn. I have made a few different cards for Mother's Day, but wanted to show you my extra special one for my mam.

I decided that I would make a flowery card for mam on one side of the card blank and a card from Lou and Euan, using "their" images on the other side. Mam can choose which side to show, or show both. This way, I get to make the flowery, colourful card I know she loves, but also include a meaningful character, or two:0)

For the flowery card, I used a little bit of the beautiful Henbury Lane paper. I've pleated some white ribbon and layered some silver mesh (both from Hobbycraft) over the pleats for a bit of texture. The white circle has been embossed using my Crafts Too folder. The flower has been made up from my Memory Box Hibiscus die, a punched flower and pearl. The leaves are from the Spellbinders Foliage set. The beautiful butterfly are my new Clearly Besotted Butterfly Wishes Additions and die - fantastic service and quality - I am now obsessed with this company!!!!! I've been surprised that the butterflies stamp so well using my Distress Ink pads (this one is Tumbled Glass)....I've never had particularly sharp images when I've tried before.

For my birthday, the lovely Melly sent me the cute CC Designs characters (School Hansel and School Lucy) as they reminded her of Lou and Euan. I've had them stamped and part coloured for a wee while, just waiting for the right project.......this!!!! They have been coloured with pro markers.
A bit of Stardust Stickles around the edges complete my card.
So, what can you show us at Dream Valley this time? I'm looking forward to seeing.

CAS Male Card

Sorry I haven't blogged recently, or visited many of your blogs. I've been making plenty of cards lately, but seem to have had no time to blog anything! Hopefully, I can get this rectified yet again very soon!

So, I have a new obsession (like I need another one!!!!!!)......Clearly Besotted Stamps. They seem to have lots of stamp sets that I need like the Twinkle Toes ballerina set - perfect for the dance mad children I know......Going Places vehicle set - perfect for the little boys I know.....Dino-mite dinosaurs, Butterfly Wishes Additions and I've just ordered the Stepping Out and Just for You sets for a few orders and personal birthday cards I need to make! The quality of these stamps is excellent and the service superb. I highly recommend them!

Anyway, best get on talking about the card, huh!?! This one uses one of the Going Places stamps. I've added a tiny bit of shading with my promarkers and some Platinum Stickles. I am definitely in a bit of a Clean and Simple phase, hence the style of this card. The sentiment is from the Going Places set. The blue paper is from my stash and has had a few "clouds" stamped and shaded - these are actually thought bubbles from a Studio G set, which I think I bought from Michaels in Florida for $1. A little bit of twine, some piercing and a sewn on button complete my simple card.

I would love to enter the following challenges:
